80*

Wow, is it a gorgeous day! Sunshine is my most favoritest thing ever and I relish it. Spring is definitely nearly here.

This skirt used to be a church skirt, but after some obvious light-colored stains, it's been downgraded to a house skirt.

Shirt: Target
Skirt: Made by me (yellow denim, pattern by me)
Flip flops: Old Navy
Headband: Made by me

I love varying the simple denim+tee look. My favorite style of shirt nowadays is these Boyfriend (husband? ;)) Tees with the round neck and little pocket. The style is fresh and current, but simple and versatile.

What's the weather like at your house?

  3. Isn't this Spring weather marvelous?? (Us Georgia folks are getting really excited about it staying for good! :D) It smells so wonderful outside. And a few days ago I watched what I'm pretty sure is a Wren fly in and out of the chicken coop, with bits of fluff and twigs. Sure enough, it was building a little nest under the eaves. Can't wait to hear the baby birds. :)

What a bright, happy skirt! Did you buy your denim online?

Ugh, getting stains on things is so frustrating. I stood up after being in the van on the way to Church the other day, and found a bright pink stain on the side of my favorite linen skirt. Turns out, one of the younger kids threw a piece of chewed, sticky gum into my seat. *Sighs* Thankfully however, it washed out with some stain remover. :P

    1. Hey Livvy! Yes, I'm loooving spring! I bought this denim on fabric.com in the clearance section last year. I love it, except for the stains! :P I'm pretty sure the ones on this skirt are from muddy little hands. :D

  9. Well it’s summer in Australia. Spent the evening on the beach last night. Absolutely beautiful!

I love your skirt. How do you get hold of these interesting colours of denim? Do you just buy it uncoloured and then dye it?

    1. Liz, I buy the denim just like it is. I bought this yellow denim on Fabric.com in their clearance section. I'm working on learning how to dye denim, since it is so hard to find even good normal colors.

  15. I love this casual look Olivia! I love those 'boyfriend' tee's too! (shame about the name, hey!) I was sooooo excited to find some tee's for $2 yesterday at Kmart ( Australian version of your Walmart!) the colours were really pretty and I wore a really purple one with a lacy tired black skirt (also bought on sale last year) to last nights bible study/prayer meeting! Don't you love end of season sales!!!

as for the weather... it is Autumn and the temperature is glorious!!! we have had major flooding here in Aust. so the sun is most welcome!

have a blessed rest of the week,

  16. I never would have thought that yellow and green go that well together.. but I really like this combo! :) Nicely done.

Well, the weather has finally heated up. It's been bearable to go outside with out a jacket or worrying that the 70mph daily wind is going to blow you away. ;) The weather has been really nice, actually, which I am just loving. :)

  19. Maybe you should get a tide to go and try to remove the spots on your skirt......I had a white shirt that got mud on it and it worked like charm getting the mud off.
