Sick Day

Well, it's Tuesday. Usually on Tuesdays I post my co-op outfit... but alas, today I had to stay home from classes because of a weird stomach bug I seemed to have had yesterday. That's why I look rather sickly in these pictures! :P

This skirt is one that I have a hard time finding stuff to match- its an interesting color and not the most flattering thing in the world. Actually, I haven't worn it since last February when I wore it for this post.

Shirt: Thrift store
Tank: Penny's
Skirt: Thrift store
Earrings: Made by me
Anklets: Walmart

What makes this work? The shirt's fittedness off-sets the flouffy skirt. The length of the shirt, by hitting right at the top of the skirt's waistband keeps the hips defined at their smallest point, and the tank tucked into the skirt keeps my stomach covered and things around the hips smooth since there is so little overlap of the skirt and shirt. :)
Off to color with my little sister... :)

  3. For feeling sick you look pretty good! Who's teaching your wrriting class? Cute outfit! I like the skirt the only strange thing that I noticed is it looks like it has pockets in a contrasting color. Is that what I am seeing or is it something else? Hope your feeling better!!

    1. Another teacher is subbing for me. Yes, the pockets are done in a cute contrasting polkadot fabric. :)

    1. Haha, I would if I had one! I just live a mild farm life, eat healthy, and jog occasionally. When I feel I need some toning, I work my way up to 150 sit ups and 25 push ups, and then give myself a break for a while. :)

  8. I actually really think this is flattering. The top is a great color choice to go with the skirt. I like the hair too. I wouldn't have thought you'd been sick at all.

  11. I just wanted to say I hope you get better soon! I love the lavendar outfit! I reminds me of a swing dress I am making that is also lavendar. It seems thrift stores are the best places to find skirts if you don't want to sew one. I have also found so many at the thrift store! Maybe its due to more and more gals wearing pants, maybe not though. God bless!
