Sister Style | Sunday Black

I trust y'all had an edifying Lord's Day! Some weeks my sisters and I coordinate our outfits, other weeks we completely clash. Today was the former category, I hope, although we really didn't try. :)

I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off managing things while my parents were gone for a few days (thankfully they're home now!), so I needed a no-brainer easy-peasy outfit to throw on this morning. Thus, a no-fuss dress.

 What I'm wearing:
Dress: Goodwill
Shirt: Handmedown
Shoes: Payless
Hat: Sears
Choker: Droplette

Emma chose a twill skirt to pair with her satin top. She tried a sparkley black skirt with this shirt but it looked like she was trying too hard. I love her final look though. :)

 What Emma's wearing:
Shirt: Sears (gift from grandma!!)
Skirt: Made by me
Shoes: Payless (like 7 years ago! :P)
Tank: Handmedown
Pearls: Walmart

I love how we all had a little pop of green in our outfits- my polkadots, Emma's skirt, Willa's tank. Willa pulls the dramatic monochromatic look off well. :)

What Willa's wearing:
Shirt: Sears (gift from grandma!!)
Tank: JCPenny's
Skirt: Gift from grandma
Shoes: Walmart
Key necklace: Target

This afternoon and evening we had Aussie acquaintances and  good local friends over. Great discussions about everything from accents to baptism to means of grace to formal logic. :) This morning's sermon was on how if we are truly saved, our salvation will show itself out in the way we love one another and the way we serve. Luke 6:43, "“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit."
:) What was your sermon on today? Do you ever try to match your outfits with your siblings?

  1. Wow, the polka dot outfit is adorable! I personally would prefer it to be a little longer and flowing. Also the shoes in the last outfit are to really, really cute! I'm going to look for them @ Payless. Thanks for the ideas:)

    1. Oh, you know what? I just remembered- the shoes I found at Walmart about 2 years ago-- sorry I misinformed you! I get most of our shoes at Payless or the Thrift Store, so I had forgotten! :P

  3. very nice. Couldn't tell your dress had greenish polka dots till you said something. Are you the only one of your sisters that wears a hat or something to church? Just curious! I cover my head during all waking hours in obed. to I Cor. 11 - was brought up that way and it makes sense to me. Love your dress!

    1. All the girls in our family wear head coverings to church (notice my sisters headbands) but my Daddy doesn't require it- we just have studied and come to the conclusion that 1 Cor 11 applies to at least public worship, although I could see the case for all the time as well.

  5. Wow! It is amazing how much your two sisters look alike. I almost thought they were the same girl, well except that their hair was different. You are all so beautiful!

  6. Love, love, love! :) How funny...I wore black and white yesterday to church too! I occasionally try to match with my siblings, but most of our clothes are so different, that it's hard. =D
Our sermon today was "Forgiving our Debtors". We can forgive others, too, with the Lord's help!

  10. I love all of your outfits! They're all so classy and pretty.(:
Our sermon was on the evidence for the resurrection, which was great for me because I'm currently struggling in a mythology class that classifies the Bible as a myth. Your table topics sound amazing, haha! And edifying too. I know I would have enjoyed sitting in on such a conversation.(:

    1. Emma and Willa are 25 months apart in age. People used to think they were twins, then for a few years that stopped while Emma grew up and Willa didn't, but now that Willa's grown a bit, they're "twins" again!

  14. I love all of your outfits. I particularly like Wila's shoes! I think you should do more posts with your sisters and what they are wearing.
My sister and I usually don't ever try to match clothing. One reason is that we don't look a lot alike (some people have thought that one of us was adopted, which isn't the case), and two, we both like different styles. I tend to dress up a little more than she does.
    Have a great week!

  15. I loved seeing what your sisters wore too. You are all so beautiful.

Also I liked hearing what you heard in church. I sometimes match my family like on Easter Sunday I made bow ties for my three little men and one big man, that was quite the endeavor and then the girls and I coordinated with the color scheme, somewhat loosely and we all had on Easter hats. That was fun.
I was in the nursing room when the speaker (in my church its different members of the ward called on to speak.) said he knew that we could heal from the hurt others caused and could heal from Christ when we do the hurting. It was so beautiful. I wept and was glad no one else was in there as my family is going through some rough times.

  16. Oh so you have Aussie friends do you? What part of Aus are they from? I'd be interested to know what was said about accents lol.

    1. Well, sort of. They were acquaintances of friends so we invited them over. :D I don't know what part they're from.
The gist of the conversation was along the lines of how things sound different to differently trained ears and the differences between English, Aussie, and New Zeal. speech. :D
