Memorial Day

Happy Tuesday-after-Memorial-Day, y'all! We had a day full of studying (no school off for homeschoolers! :P) and I took a much needed nap. :P

Yesterday evening we hung out at a friend's house and this is what I wore:

Ice cream, volley ball, and family worship were on the agenda. And smacking bugs.

This vest I found at a kid's consignment shop in our little town. It was a little stretched out, but it wasn't anything a little sewing couldn't fix. :D

Shirt: Handmedown
Vest: Consignment shop
Skirt: Made by me
Flip flops: Target
Flower at the end of my braid: wreath. :P

It was a pleasant evening. I had a lot of studying to do afterwards last night, but my friend helped me and made it a lot more fun, despite staying out until nearly midnight. :P

This week I have a LOT to do, and I'm kind of stressing about it, so I think for my sanity and my family's empty stomachs' sake, I'm going to take a break from posting until next week.  I have a big Bible test to take next Tuesday and I've hardly studied yet. So, sorry.  I'm not very good at juggling, and I want to be sure I don't drop the wrong balls. :)
See y'all next week! Oh, and if your comment hasn't been published, it's because it has a question that needs answered, and I don't want to forget to answer, so I hold it back unpublished until I can get around to answering it. I'm falling behind in replying to all your sweet emails, too.... *hangs head in shame*

Au revoir. How was your Memorial Day? Are you done school for the summer?

  1. Cute! Love the hair flower! We didn't really do anything yesterday, just some work outside. I am waitlisted for one class this summer, but even if I get in it won't start until July! I'm really hoping I get in otherwise it will be a long summer, unless I get a bunch of work which I hope to! I will miss you this week!
    Love, Katie

  2. love the skirt ;)
We hung out at our cabin for most of the day and then stopped for ice cream on the way home. Alas I'm not done with school yet, but i have finished math and science!!

  3. Breaks are always good! :) I will pray that all goes well on your test! :)

  4. I actually did get off school yesterday, but only because Dad had off work.

  5. I think I got Memorial Day off for most of my home school years because our church has a picnic, and my little sisters are done or mostly done with school for the summer. We have never exactly been consistent with our breaks. When I was small we did school through the summer.

We went to our church picnic, and then most of my siblings swam when we got home (I don't have a swimsuit yet :P).

I like your patriotic theme-I did not even think about trying for it this year, but I wouldn't really have had all the colors anyway.

  6. cool. I did have off of school. We roasted some s'mores & had to go to a picnic for my job.

  7. For Memorial Day we went over to aunt's house and had a grill out with family.

My siblings and I are pretty much done with school for the summer, my mom always gets us workbooks we do here and there throughout the summer, but yea! No school for a while :)

  8. Aw. I'll miss your posts, but I understand. I am a homeschool graduate and now a law student, so studying is a way of life for me. ;P ~Sarabeth over at delightfullyfeminine.blogspot.com

  9. I finished school on about....May....1st? :) Hope your Bible test goes well!!

  10. Hey, I going to camp and can't wear flip flops any good sandle ideas?

    1. Gladiators! They look awesome with skirts, shorts, and jeans. :) Anybody else have suggestions?

    2. I know they are not the most fashionable, but strap on sandals that look like little kids! They work for water, don,t give you blisters, and last a while. Try going to landsend.com to find other sportsy, cool shoes. Have fun!

    3. I love my Chaco's. I found mine on ebay for half price. I have the ones with the toe loop. My favorite thing about them (other than the fact that they're super comfortable) is that when they get dirty you can throw them in the washing machine. How many pairs of shoes can you do that with? :)

  11. Stunning outfit. I simply love your photos because you are looking so cute in these photos.I like your skirt dear because it's looking very beautiful on you. Keep posting...

  12. Hi, Olivia!

I just found your blog through pinterest and am absolutely in love! <3 I am a Christian and also dress very modestly. I love your ideas and can't wait to subscribe to your blog and learn more! It's great to know that there are more girls out there who care about how they dress, for boys, but most of all for God. You are much appreciated and I'm so thankful to find your blog!

  14. Shalom!:) I googled "Godly woman" and came to your blog! I'm a bornagain housewife from Norway who dresses like you do every single day of the year, because The Holy Spirit told me so many years ago, and I LOVE it! :o)May God really grant you all your hearts desires, according to His loving will and plan!

  15. I found your blog through Natasha over at What-I-Wear-and-Why-I-do-It, and I just wanted to say that you really inspire me. Just because you dress modestly, doesn't mean that you have to wear frumpy sack-like clothes. Thank you for beautifully showing how to dress modestly while still being cute and stylish.
I hope your Bible test went well, and I cannot wait until you can get back to posting more outfits!
