Lesson Learned

Noted: Before ever stepping out the front door, always make sure you're presentable. This morning I rolled out of bed at 5:25, pulled on some comfortable jeans, brushed my teeth, and stumbled out the front door with yesterday's make up still making an appearance to go fix the tractor and bushhog some fields before breakfast (aka, when it gets hot). I was a little distraught to find the new cow had escaped from our field and was nowhere in sight. Called my neighbor, who happened to be with my sister, and we went scrambling through the woods looking for the lovely beef walking around. ;)

Long story short, ended up seeing half the neighborhood (thankfully we all looked equally bad and groggy at 6am) and helped harvest at a friend's farm before I made it back to my house to look in the mirror.

At least we found the cow. (and 6 others.)

I've cleaned up a bit now, but the lack of sleep is showing. :P

Shirt: Kohl's?
Undershirt: Halftee.com
Skirt: Made by me
Flip flops: Target
Earrings: Target

I'm sure the rest of the day is going to be an adventure, too, since there's rotting bananas in the fridge I need to deal with... ;)

Have a wonderful day!

    1. Try looking at thrift stores they seem to have long jean skirts most of the time.

    3. We get some of our skirts at Cato Fashions store. They have the CUTEST designs and have sales nearly weekly at our location! We just love that store!

  4. Cute! I love how you layered the tank top over instead of over, I've never thought of doing that! I may have to try that with a t-shirt! I can't believe you fix the tractor and bushog. But I'm totally jealous! I wish I knew how to do that! I was up at that time too this morning! Since you are an hour earlier than us, as you were rolling out of bed, I was clocking in!

  5. So cute! I Love how you took the highly immodest strappy top and made it modest. Haha, my family has farm problems too! (ever spend Sunday afternoon searching the country roads for your family's missing and very scary-looking - and lots of money invested in!!! - breeding boar? Don't) ;)

  7. Oh yeah! Many times we've had to go get our horses who ran up to our neighbor's who live on top of a bluff and then only way we get them is to hike up that trail! ~Mario

  8. Oh wow, we have this exact same problem! =D We have a cow who's WAY to smart for her own good. Always interesting to be called by our neighbors at 11:45 p.m. who're saying "Your cows just ran past our window!" oh dear....=)

Thank you so much for having this blog, it's a highlight to my day. :)

    God bless you!

  9. I know all about farm problems!
Catching a whole herd of goats eating the garden, is hard! Not to mention what else can happen...

  10. Love that cute tank layered over the tee. Very cute look! :-)

  11. How do you like your half tee? I've seen them for sale before (the modest mom online store sells them too.) but being more expensive then my usual thrift store prices, I haven't bought one. Do you think they're worth the money? Are they comfortable being so short?

Love your blog! I get such such modest inspiration from it and it's so nice to know that there ARE other people out there who value modesty like I do!

  13. Do you have a compost pile/bin? That would be a good place to put those rotten bananas (unless you have other plans?). And yes I must say that when you go out in the morning you need to always make sure you look half-decent. LOL Your outfit is cute, but it might have been better that you were wearing jeans since you had to go traipsing through the woods looking for your cow. But then again a skirt probably wouldn't have been that big of a deal.
I hope the rest of your day goes smoothly for you!

    1. Hey! We do have a compost pile, and definitely dispose of rotting stuff there. But these bananas I ended up freezing to use for smoothies :D. Yeah, agree about the jeans. I thankfully was wearing them when we went looking, although my sister was in a skirt. :p

  14. Great outfit! I so appreciate that you take a strappy top and make it modest. Most women just wear it solo and count it modest. Thanks for God's work in your heart and life.

  15. I love your long denim skirts that you sew yourself! Where do you purchase the denim?? At our local fabric store and our Walmart...the only denim they have is odd colored. I love the color of your denim skirts!!

    Blessings to you!

  16. Oh, the joys of farm life! Haha, I've spent more time than I care to remember running down escaped sheep, horses and llamas. But the satisfied, happy, hero-ish feeling and the happy dance you get to do afterwards makes up for it;D
Loving you blog! Your outfits are absolutely adorable and so inspiring!
