Hey y'all! I have something super exciting to share with you today! Most of you have probably already seen this, but it promises to be so good I didn't want to chance y'all missing it! Anna Sophia and Elizabeth Botkin (Authors of So Much More and It's Not That Complicated) are doing a 7-week webinar on “Reclaiming Beauty: A New Look at How to Glorify God in Your Body."

These ladies are godly, stylish, thrifty, and beautiful. They know their stuff, and share it with elegance and depth. I've been so encouraged by their books and their real life example as I've gotten to know them the last couple years. The topics they plan to cover look awesome:

  • How we should respond to the world’s idea of beauty
  • The history and philosophy behind the most popular garments
  • The proper priority-level of beauty in the Christian’s life
  • The biblical relationship between the physical and the spiritual
  • What it means to be separate from the world
  • What we can learn from the beauty industry
  • What the beauty industry has gotten wrong
Get practical tips on:
  • Clothing yourself better for a lot less money
  • Making modesty and femininity look excellent instead of frumpy
  • Making off-the-rack clothes modest
  • Putting together great outfits with what you already had in your closet
  • Using makeup tastefully
  • Giving sloppy garments new life with minimum alterations
  • Cultivating taste and style
  • Getting out of a fashion rut
  • Creating a minimum-time-and-effort plan for looking nice every day

  14. Oh nice! I'd love to be a part of this, wouldn't have ordinarily fit into my budget though. :/ That whole "minimum time and effort" thing sounds great to me, I waffle between rolling out of bed and getting dressed and that's it, or spending an hour on my hair and outfit and makeup. :P I need to find a balance.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oooh, this sounds really interesting! I'm definitely going to enter, and I might look up their books too.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Let's see - it's telling me to comment with the topic I'm most excited about... I think I'm really most interested to see how it lines up overall with my own thoughts and opinions on beauty. If their ideas are different, then I will be challenged to consider mine more deeply. BUT, that's not an actual topic, so I guess "Making off-the-rack clothes modest." :)

One thing I find a bit curious is that they don't have a topic for hair. Perhaps hair will be discussed throughout some of the topics, but the way the hair is done can make or break modesty and beauty alike.

    ReplyDelete
  78. There are so many great topics listed there! Thanks for hosting this give-away. I would love to hear about the history and philosophy behind the most popular garments. I've heard several girls lament that they used to wear a certain article all the time, before they realized what image they were portraying, and they wish they had known earlier. I don't want to make the same mistake! I would also love to hear all the practical tips.
