Taking A Break...

Hey y'all! So, turns out I'm not Super Woman. I can't take over all of my mom's duties, a lot of my sisters' duties, watch three rambunctious kids, keep up a blog, do the animal chores, keep the house inhabitable, go to Christmas and wedding events, and write a 50+ page eBook without a computer devoted to me. There's a lot to balance, and I'm stressing. I shouldn't be, but I am. I know girls who can do all this, and I admire them so.

My every plan so far has been spoiled this morning, and something's gonna have to give. I can't post yesterday's outfit pictures because I'm out of Blogger storage (again) and I can't bring myself to shell out $30 a year yet... so, I figure that must be God's way of giving me grace to say au revoir to this blog for a week or two until I get the eBook finished and the bedsheets changed.
I love y'all, but when all my "spare" time is already spent blogging, it's hard to get time (and a computer-- I have to borrow my sister's that she does a lot of her school on) to get the eBook ready!

I know you'll understand. Thank you so much for being so incredibly patient with me! Blessings on your Advent season!

  2. Your industry is admirable, but it's totally okay to take time to do what you want. Some things can slide. So what if the sheets don't get changed for a week? You're 19! You deserve some fun time.

    1. Haha, a week, yes, a month and a half, no. :D I have been taking quite a bit more fun time than normal lately with barrel racing and girls nights and movies and concerts. I haven't forgotten YOLO. ;)

  3. Will miss your posts, but I completely understand.

Praying for you/your family and for your mom's health specifically.

  4. Actually, I would prefer we keep the house habitable, not inhabitable :-)

Taking a blogging break is a good idea. Maybe, then, you can enjoy writing your book.

Ladies, you will be blessed by Olivia's new book. She is working diligently to make sure every step is easy to understand and doable for you. It is A LOT of work to write such a technical book. I am amazed at her ability to first be able to sew (something I cannot do) and then be able to explain it to others.

Hang in there, sweetheart. I'm praying for you.

    1. Picky guy here. Habitable and Inhabitable mean the same thing, much like Flammable and Inflammable. "Uninhabitable" would be the state of the house we would not like.

    2. Ah! You are so very right. In my mind, which is quite foggy these days, I was thinking "uninhabitable". Thank you, for setting me straight. Okay, I would like the house habitable or inhabitable, but not uninhabitable :-)

  6. You're definitely making the right decision, Olivia :) Sometimes you have to just prioritize (painful sometimes, but it's part of growing up, as I've found out the last few months!!) Look forward to hearing from you again after the holidays!

  12. Don't feel bad everyone needs a break once in awhile. Being in the present and enjoying your family for the holidays is much more important. Besides we don't want you to burn out completely, we'd miss you. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

  13. Don't compare yourself to others, we all struggle, fall - even all the appearing "supergirls" do - at the end it is only important that you stand up again! Abandon the blog if you have to, no one is to judge you. It was a pleasure to hear from you, but don't overdo it! This is "just" the online-world, the real world is much more important! I hope you will be fine! God bless!

  14. Every blogger (including myself) could use a break once in awhile. It helps to refreshen our mind and come back with more vigor in our posts. ;)

Take as long as you like, Olivia. We'll be waiting.

    Take care,
    ~Nela

  15. I will miss your posts, but I totally understand being busy! You've got a lot on your plate right now, not to meantion that it's the holiday season, and that adds a lot more business!

I am excited about your ebook. From what I've seen about it, (on this blog. :) it sounds amazing.

  16. Dearest Olivia,

I totally understand... I, too, have had to put some 'things' aside to see to that my family is properly looked after - and the thing is when you do this, it sorta puts those 'things' in perspective! Anyway, just wanted to let you know i'm totally know and understand - but in a lot of the busy-ness of little kiddies and housework, I know for me i wouldn't have it any other way! :) I'm in sincere prayer about your dear Mother - poor thing! :(
I will miss your posts - your blog is such an encouragement to me, as i know it would be to many others! :)
Remember in all this and all the busy-ness, "THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH" Neh 8:10!

    Keep looking unto Jesus, dear!
Much love to you through our Lord,
    Emily xox

  17. If you ran out of blogger storage and don't want to pay $30 (I sure didn't), you can check into Flickr or Photobucket to upload your photos, just by pasting the html into the body of your post.

  18. I'm wondering if you guys have ever looked into TMD or TMJ as a possible source of your Mom's health problems. These two illnesses/pains (IDK what to call them) can cause so many problems from exhaustion to sleep apnea to constant migraines and many more things. Just something you might want to look into.

I'll be thinking of you all during this time. Being constantly sick is no fun! (and I know from personal experience) Prayers to all, and may God bring healing and wisdom.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! She's seen lots of doctors and they all agree her problem is thyroid/adrenal fatigue triggered, which unfortunately takes a long time to heal. Thank you for your prayers!

  22. Olivia,

I am sure your mom counts you as such a blessing! I know my lil' daughter today was telling me her present to me was to obey as quickly as she could and it about melted my heart. Keeping priority is one of the greatest tests of this life I think and I am so happy to see you are doing it. Busily being a strength to your mother and serving your family is the spirit of Christ, hence Christmas...thats for sure!

I have to say I am soooo excited to hear about your 50 pg. ebook....wow!!! Yeah!!!

Also, I can't contain..I'm up late tonight being a little 'elf'. What fun it is to be a mother! I sewed my darling daughter a little outfit for her dolly that matches her dress. The doll was made by me too from an old Christmas book pattern. Each of my children get one when they turn two. So my fourth is due this year! A little less motivation when they are boys, but this boy I think he's going to like it. Anyway what I sewed my daughter was a little cape/shawl deal, skirt, and blouse cut from an old blouse, that matches daughter's cape for her a little jumper. Oh what fun! There's just enough for me to squeak out a mommy skirt to match if I get the time. Plus doing something similar for second daughter...with a mommy skirt too hopefully (maybe mommy skirts will come after Christmas.)
I can just see you bustling around making the season magical and bright for your family and finding great joy in the talents you share for others! I know my prayers get answered for grace and strength this time of year and then what fun I have its a natural high! Sounds like you are surrounded by prayers from others, friendship, plus all the character your possess from experience in so doing, to receive His grace and make this a really bright year, amidst the trials that are hard.

  26. Hey Olivia! Yes you will be missed, but I totally understand about taking a blog break. Life comes first and not blogging.

I have awarded you the Liebster blog award over at my blog. You don't have to do the tag if you don't want to or have the time. I just thought I would let you know. :)

    God bless and Merry Christmas!

  27. Hey Olivia, I'll miss your posts but I understand as well that you need to have priorities. :) Enjoy the "break". It's showing on my blogger dashboard that you posted a post after this one, (something about needing help) but when I click on it it says the link isn't working...anyone else having trouble with that? I've tried it on a couple of different computers too...

  28. Hey y'all! Thanks for your sympathy. :) Yes, I did post a quick post yesterday, then took it down because I got the help I needed. :) Sorry for the confusion! I forgot it would show up on people's dashboards after I took it down. Thanks for the interest!
    Blessings!

  29. Totally and completely understand! I will miss you, because I love your blog. But, some things are more important, so take your time. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how you curl your hair WHEN YOU GET TIME. Don't feel like you have to do it immediately. Actuallly, don't feel like you have to do it at all, I just really wanted it. :-) Yikes! 30 dollars a year! Hope you figure out something to do!
