On Vacation // in Remixed Spring

Hey y'all! I'm on vacation in western Maryland this week visiting family. It's been a very relaxing time and wow is the weather gorgeous. :)

I needed an easy ensemble that the pieces could be mixed into different outfits so I wasn't just taking a one-time outfit when space is tight, so I threw this outfit into my bag. The halftee/floral shirt/ belt/ hat combination I wore just a couple weeks ago to church: Romance // in Vintage Spring, so I switched out my skirt. :)

We went to church with my grandparents and the sermon was about putting our trust in God. I'm hoping to listen to our church's sermon and summarize it sometime this week, but we'll see. Yesterday afternoon we went swimming and it felt so good to get some sunshine.

Shirt: Plato's Closet ($6)
Halftee: c/o Halftee.com
Belt: Thrift Store ($2)
Skirt: Made by me
Shoes: Charity shop ($2)
Earrings + Necklace: Gift
Hat: Sears ($3)
It's 10 am and I haven't gotten dressed yet... better go do that. I think we might go clothes shopping for my little siblings and see a movie today. How was your Lord's Day?

  2. I love this outfit! And really like the pictures!
Our day was filled with going to our church services, taking the photo shoot for my (and sister's) blog and then a friend came over and we watched Senseand Sensibility, she had never seen it! So deprived! :)
Oddly enough, my church outfit was alot like the one you are featuring here! I simply love the fabric of your shirt! And everything flows so nicely!
Blessing and safety on your trip!

  5. Have fun on vacation! The sleeping in is the best part! (Although when you get up at 6 AM, 'sleeping in' becomes kind of a relative term, huh?)

It will be interesting to see your notes from this week, if you get 'em up, but don't worry about it. You're on vacation! Relax and have an awesome time with family :)

  8. Love the idea of remixing pieces when on holiday. I do that all the time (well maybe not the holiday bit.) =)

I always thought that the trim on those ruffles was lace, but it turns out that it is bobble trim. Quite the opposite. Love the outfit, though!

    Enjoy your holiday!

  10. I love that top!! are you still using the baking soda hair wash method? how's it going? I've been doing home made shampoo, and I like it except my hair is flat, maybe until I adjust?

  11. Hi there! Olivia, you made an interesting point - that you are going to listen to your church sermon. I have long found your summaries quite intriguing and would love to hear more. Are they available to stream or download anywhere? Thanks! Amanda

  12. Hey Olivia! I think that I have already commented on this post, but I wanted to go back to it because I always really love the belt that you are wearing here...and have been wanting to find one like it...anyway, yesterday I was thrift shopping (my 'heaven') and I found one that I thought looked alot like it..came on to compare it to yours and it is the exactly the same one, but in brown! So happy! :)
    ramble, ramble anyway....:) be blessed!

  13. Hey Olivia! I am desperately loving your site! Thanks so much for blogging about nice, stylish, feminine, and so umf good clothes and styles! I have an unusual request!
My sisters and I share a big closet, but I have had a bit of a challenge trying to figure out what styles look best on a super-sized rump...or should I say katooshi? LOL!
I don't necessarily need to "hide" the fact but I would be nice to make it look maybe a little more proportionate to my the rest of my body, and just make it look a little better overall! Maybe you could do a post with some styles that look good on this body type...(I am a skinny girl on top btw! That's what makes it so hard to dress!)...For a project! If so that would be great!
Some say dresses look good, but certain kinds just bulk it up for me, and others say certain shirt and skirt combos work. Any Ideas?
You're handmade skirts are the bomb by the way! I love to sew too. Where do you get your fabric?
