About

Hey! My name is Olivia Howard, and I am a 21-year-old, oldest of 6, stay-at-home-homeschool-graduate-daughter. :D I love sewing, thrifting, healthy food, mud, blogging, photography, design work, and laundry.

I am a Christian and through grace I live to serve others. He has given me a passion for modest style and sharing the joy of "Dressing outside your box, but inside His Book". I post on both my sewing blog and this my fashion blog, with the goal of encouraging others in the quest to be "Cute, but covered. Stylish, but sensible! Contemporary, but classic! Feminine, but fresh!"

Fresh Modesty? What kind of name is that? It means just what it says. Modesty. Fresh Modesty. I absolutely love the definition of "Fresh":

FRESH: 1. newly made or obtained. 2. recently arrived; just come. 3. new; not previously known, met with, etc.; novel: to uncover fresh facts. 4. additional or further: fresh supplies. 5. not salty, as water. 6.retaining the original properties. not stale or spoiled. 7. not tired or fatigued; brisk; vigorous.8. not faded, worn, obliterated, etc.: fresh paint; a fresh appearance. 9. looking youthful and healthy: a fresh beauty that we all admired. 10. pure, cool, or refreshing, as air. 11. clean, crisp, and uncomplicated. 12. exciting. appealing. informed. up-to-date.

Oftentimes once a Christian girl has convictions on modesty, she falls into a rut about what to wear, or not to wear. Eventually we become frumpy, homeschooler-y, or even legalistic. Let's dash the stereotype that pops into one's mind when the words "modesty" or "homeschooler" are mentioned. Modesty is not defined by the culture around us, but rather by the Word of God.

In trying to encourage girls towards being cute but covered, I developed a method for creating a modest swimsuit for yourself! For more information, check out this page.

Isn't it conflicting for a girl who claims to be modest to post 500 pictures of herself on the internet? At first glance, yes, it is. I struggle with this, and try to encourage my readers in the most humble way possible. I realize that real-life examples are sometimes hard to find, as well as practical, real tips for actual living in modest clothes. I've found posting pictures of what I'm wearing to be the easiest, most effective way to do this. I welcome critiques, challenges, and different perspectives. I hope that you will see my heart in this and take it for what it is. I do this for y'all.
